The Childrens Handbell program offers three choirs for children in 3rd-8th grades. Third graders are introduced to handbells in Beginner Choir Chimes. This group focuses on the basic fundamentals of beginning to ring. Note recognition and rhythm are key concepts for this group.
Fourth and Fifth graders begin in Handbells I, or are promoted there from Choir Chimes. This group teaches fundamentals of ringing using handbells. They start as beginners, like Choir Chimes, but work at a more accelerated pace while learning proper care and handling of handbells.
Handbells II is open to 6th through 8th graders. This group focuses on playing music at a higher level and preparing for presentation in worship services.
